i have linux madreake 7.2 and wish to put it on an old 1.3gb hdd!
what is the best way do partion it.
Shall i just let it auto allocate partions or should i set them myself.
If i set them manually could someone tell me how many should i make and how big should i make them

I was just looking for the Partitioning/Installation NHF to post here, and when I returned... :)
Anyways, have a look at the Pre-Installation and Multiple Partition NHF's (http://linuxnewbie.org/nhf/Installation).

With that little bit of space, it's very difficult to correctly determine how to allocate, aside from the swap space. I know, I had a small space like that when I first started using Linux. Set up a swap partition of about 140MB and set the remainder to "/".
