Well this isn't working out as well as the demo :( The demo runs beautifully but when I startup the retail version the startup screen is fubar. It looks so crappy almost like it's using software emulation and the text is unreadable so I can't even navigate the menus to change to a higher resolution.
I followed the instructions carefully: downloaded and ran the 1.33.run installer and copied my pk3 files from the windoze partition to /usr/local/games/wolfenstein/main
I even tried copying over my cfg file from the wolfdemo to my retail cfg but that didn't help either. I tried this using a 16 and 24bit desktop.
I'm completely stumped here :( Included is an attachment of the output of running wolf if you have lots of time on your hands to help debug this for me :)
Thanks,
Tequila

What graphics card do you have and what drivers?

A GF3 with the latest Nvidia drivers. That can't be the issue, I run opengl games just fine. Counter-Strike under winex, native UT2003, etc.
In fact I just tried RTCW under winex and it ran however I it takes too much of a hit with 4x AA and16 tap AF compared to the native demo I was running :(
Oh well, guess I can live with it under Winex if I can't figure out why it looks like crap running natively.

I can see from the attachment that you don't have all of the pk3 files installed :p
pak0.pk3 is missing, and that contains the menu graphics
I'm surprised the the game even started without pak0.pk3

according to the attachment, it's not reading pak0.pk3

Woot, it works now! It turns out somehow my pak0.pk3 was corrupted. I was sitting there all depressed when I recopied that file over just for the hell of it. I fired it up and voila!
This is much better than running under winex. For some reason though I'm not getting a list of servers under multiplayer but that should be easy to figure out I hope.
Thanks for the help, especially TheGimp. When you said it wasn't reading pak0.pk3 and I saw the file it should have dawned on me a lot sooner to just recopy it over. I'm kind of worried though on how it got corrupted in the first place. I hope this isn't going to occur again.
