okay, im running mandrake 8, and I want to access the usr/local/bin folder, but Nautilis blocks it saying that I can't view this because I'm not root... how do I tell it that I am root?

Another, I can't get the Netscape Update to work, I double-click it and nothing happens :(

Also, Linux trys to run some files like bin's and .tar.bz2, .tar.gz, how do I download those, and not have Linux run them?

I think thats the only questions I have right now, thanks for takin the time to read it :) ;)

While in Netscape, right-click on the link and select 'save as' or 'save link as'. Something like that.

You could also go into Edit/Preferences - select Applications and then add/modify the association for those filetypes to download instead of open. I think that should work.
