I am new to setting up a DNS, but I really want to learn how to do it. I don't know the first thing about setting one up with my RH7 box. I have been looking at BIND because it appears to be the most popular, but I am open for suggestions. Where could I get some good step-by-step info on this?

Thanks for the help.

hey

A pretty helpful starter http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/DNS-HOWTO.html

You can get BIND here http://www.isc.org/products/BIND/

A good link as well http://www.dns.net/dnsrd/

A site I found the other day that looks good http://www.acmebw.com/askmrdns/

I've done BIND 8 & 9 on linux, OpenBSD, and FreeBSD, if you have ?'s while you're working on it feel free to email or whatever. The key thing to remember is to ALWAYS check the logs when something isn't working.
