I have installed red hat linux 7 for the first time. Installation went smoothly but the resolution settings I chose during the installation does not work. I chose 1024x768 but when linux's boots up the resolution is on 640x480. I have a 17" inch Apple monitor attached to a riva tnt 2 display card.

Linux detected the card easily and I think it installed the correct drivers. I am also multi-booting between windows 98 and xp. Linux is installed on seperate hardrive.

alt-F7 returns to the gui
