need help with cable email

Can anyone help me get my email configured with AT&T@home? I'm able to browse the web just fine, I've got dhcpcd installed (I think), but I can't figure out what mail server I'm supposed to give my email program. In Windows :rolleyes: it's just "mail" and not mail.anything. Neither of those work for me, nor does the C-*****-A hostname I got from @home. Anybody?

What mail client are you planning to use?

I use KMail (KDE 2.2) with @home and it works fine using the complete name of the mail servers.

For both pop3 and smtp, I use

mail.<area>.on.wave.home.com

Did you get a worksheet from @home when the service was installed?

You can try

ping mail

as mine displays the correct mail servers.
