Wav recorders

I am trying to find a good wav recorder for Mandrake (8.2). I very much like the Krecord that is packaged with debian, but it is useless trying to get it to load in Mandrake. The source won't make and the only rpm I've found is for connectiva linux, which gives unsolvable dependency errors. Even a force load won't work. So anyone using any other programs to record wav files. In linux that is. Don't even wanna think about going into my win partition to do this. Couldn't find the cli command record in Mandy 8.2 or i'd try that.

I saw that message. Was thinking about it. But also trying to find something with a sound input level indicator, similar to krecord. Which I guess would mean a gui front end.
