yea ok i installed Linux-2.4.18-19 kernel and my etho0 isnt working but it works in my Linux-2.4.18-10 kernal, wats wrong? I config it in network wizard the same in both kernals

I config it in network wizard the same in both kernals ScRapZ_1 10-26-2002, 09:02 PM Did you compile your own kernel or get some sort of update (I'm assuming you're using Redhat or Mandrake) If you compiled your own then you need to make sure you have support for both network and for your NIC compiled into the kernel or as modules. Either way, you still may have to modprobe the module for your network card. For exaple, I have a Realtek 10/100 network card, the module for that is rl8109.o - so I would type modprobe rl8109 at the command prompt. Do you get any errors at all? Try typing ifconfig and see if it complains about anything in particular, it might shed some light. TTFN, Scrapz :p justlinux.com
