Modem options

I'm using a PPP connection and I had to change some settings in the kppp modem settings to get it to work. Is there anywhere i can go to find out what each of those settings are for. So that I might make the best possible connection for what I have.

I don't know the answer until you tell me the changes you made... or the changes you think you need to make.
Need some specifics, here.
