how do you change the screen resolution in KDE 2? i tired [CTRL] [ALT] [+/-] and it does nothing

Available resolutions are defined in XF86Config. You can use XF86Setup to add some modes and then Ctrl+Alt+[+/-] to switch among them.

AFAIK it has nothing to do with KDE, except if they invented some weird tool !
