I don't know if this will help, and if it does, its not really a root solution. I have had similar problems with Mozilla, which is a super look-alike of Netscape. It normally happens when I have to cold boot my machine (which I'm starting to think is memory problems). Normally I just hit the cancel button and restart the program and I normally get in. For me, I think in the cold boot somehow Mozilla never gets told that I've logged out of the program and so I have to do it once I open it again. But now I'm starting to talk out my booty. Good luck.

I never got it in .9, but I am getting it in 1.0.1. I think its related to my cold boot situation. That wasn't a problem before, and now it is. I got Mozilla 1.0.1 about the same time I went ethernet and started having these weird freezes and auto-boots:

so is there any way to flush the memory or cache or something so i can use the default profile again?

Try this. Start a shell as root. Or just su and root password. Then type ps -A (this will list all your processes) Find all the pid numbers that are Mozillaand then type kill with the pid numbers after it and then try to start mozilla after you have killed any processes related to it. Thats usually why it wants a new profile, if it thinks its allready running.

ok, i did ps -A, and no processes had mozilla or netscape in their name.
