installing rp3

I have linux 6.1 up and running and I'm learning. when installing i didn't install rp3! didn't know what it was .. now i want to install it. I don't know how and getting started wasn't helpful, so was the search on the web.
I tried to use pico to edit the bachrc file and got the command not found error.. i followed the suggestions on the net about the Path and didn't work.. any suggestions
