Hi folks,

I just started using WindowMaker, and I have two beefs with xterm:

1. The font size is too small (particularly at 1024 x 768). I'm about to go blind.

2. The colors are ugly. I want it to look like the regular linux console (black background, grey text, blue directories, etc...).

Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how to change these things, or suggest any other terminal emulators for WindowMaker that are more customizable?

Thanks!

The file to edit is /etc/X11/app-defaults/XTerm. I have attached mine as it's been changed to give me some cool colours (see my screenshot below). Just rename it to XTerm :)

If you want the font, get it from here (http://www.jamsession.co.uk/test/smooth.pcf.gz)

You can also read through man xterm to find command-line arguments to change things like foreground/background color, font size, etc., etc. The man page also lists the resources you can set in /.../app-defaults/ to do the same things.
