Ok, I have tryed install Redhat8, Mandrake9, and slack, and no matter what when I am using my web browser to search the internet it works fine to start with, and then it starts giving me this message that says, "NOT FOUND the requested URL /whatever was not found on this server...." and I restart and boot into windows and all the websites I was trying to go to load fine. The way I am hooked up to the internet is it is being shared threw my other computer. My other computer is routing it to my Linux box. For the routing software I am using Analog X, for Windows XP. I setup the proxys in the browser right...but I think the reason I am having the problems with websites is because of the way I am hooked up to the net. Can any one please try to help me out with this? I have tryed looking all over for help on this but seems like no one else seems to have had this problem.

I had the exact same symptom: works fine on boot, then all links come up 404 after a while.

Turned out linux detected my card as another model, very close, and used that driver. But my card had a feature the other one didn't, and the driver wasn't made to deal with it. So it would work ok, then hang after a while. I installed the right driver and I was fine.

My card was an Intel ethernet pro100 and the original driver linux assigned it was eepro100. I replaced that with e100 driver from Intel.

I have no idea if this is related to your problem, but like I said the symptom was the same. Good luck man!
