Hi, I switched from Mandrake to Redhat cause mandrake is to much pre customized and I have redhat set up perfectly the way I want it But I hate the way how it mounts the CDROM I have to stick the disk in and the unmount it to open it.. How to I setup fstab to mount it like Mandrake 8 does so the cdrom is always mounted and I can just open it and it auto unmounts and if I boot up with the cd in it knows its in there?
I've messed with fstab and autofs alot did some things that the docs said but I either just screw it up or it doesn't work.. can someone please help me? thanks.

Which version of Redhat are you using? I have 7.0 and its default is to automount CD's when they are put in the drive.
The GNOME Control Center has a list of options on what to do with a CD when it is inserted. Of course that's not much help if you're not using GNOME and I'm too much a newbie to give much more help :)

RedHat 7.2 and Yeah I am using gnome but all that does it run the autorun file if the cd has one. And Yes RH will mount the CD if you put the cd in but you have to unmount it yourself to take the cd out. And if you just leave the cd in your drive and reboot when it boot back up it will not be mounted you have to take the cd out and put it back in again for it to mount . that is annoying. with mandrake you never had to unmount it it was like always mounted all the time even if the cd was out.. so I was trying to figure out how they got it to do that.. thanks tho
