Am using Mandrake 8.2 running KDE (loving it!).
I put my old skins from my Windoze box into my Linux box. XMMS finds the skins and lists them but does not make use of them. They are all "zip" files. From what I read at xmms.org it shouldn't have a problem with the zip files.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

I'm using xmms 1.2.7 (if that helps)

so if the file was named foo.zip, you renamed it to foo.wsz ?
you could try unzipping them in the ~/.xmms/Styles directory.
where do you have them at now?
are they winamp 2.x or 3 skins?

On Mandrake 9.0 my xmms 1.2.7 skins are named *.zip. According to the man xmms looks for skins in ~/.xmms/Skins (note capital) or /usr/share/xmms/Skins. IIRC, they were in the same place on Mandrake 8.2. If you're importing winamp skins from windows, do make sure that they are winamp 2 skins, winamp 3 skins won't work.

Ok, this is wierd. I got it to work by.....
-unzipping it in Win98
-copy ALL files into a seperate directory in usr/share/xmms/Skins/NAME_OF_SKIN
-directory name came up in skin browser, clickec it and viola! Worked!!
Wild ride, fur shure!
