Dumb x4.0 question

I installed Mandrake 7.2 and entered the same X settings I had in 7.1 and 7.0 and Debian, which had worked in these. But when 7.2 starts X the screen goes blank and the light on the monitor goes from green to yellow. This tells me that I'm not getting a video signal. Any ideas?
3.3.6 worked with these settings,
but 4.0 doesn't. :eek:

hello,
i had much better luck with xf86config than i did with xconfiguartor , i don't know which video card you have or which tool you used to set it up. i have had better luck with xfree86 4 for some stuff (like nvidea).
do you ahve dpms set in the xf86config?

I tried xf86config and config'd just like I had in Drake 7.0, 7.1, Storm, Turbo and Debian, all 3.3.6.
This 7.2 Drake w/x4.0 just brings up a black screen.
Please help me. :p
