wine can read fat and vfat right but what about ntfs see
currently i have

/dev/hda1 4gb win2k ntfs
/dev/hda2 26gb win2k fat32(for games ect)
/dev/hdb1 256mb linuxswap
/dev/hdb2 1gb / linux
/dev/hdb3 15gb /usr

AFAIK ntfs support for Linux is 'experimental'. Microsoft change the specs for ntfs seemingly with every release of NT (windows 2000 uses ntfs 5). I believe that you can get read access but I can't remember how.

I'm going through the same thing. I can read a NTFS (Win2K) partition, but I can't mount it for writing.

The Read access is stable. The write access is the experimental one. You can read NTFS...just not write to it reliably
