Question #1
OK, I've read on the 'net and in "Linux Journal" among others that "when using PCI hardware they always get correctly id-ed and conf-ed". This tru?
(You see; I'm really hinting at soundcards.)
If all PCI stuff is OK, I'll just go out and buy a new card to dump my ISA "SB16C ViBRA PnP" (Other owners might know what a huge PITA this card is under Linux)

Question #2
If all PCI hardware is NOT ok, then is there a *reliable* (updated regularly) site to go to? I use SuSE, but their site's latest addition in the "Supported H/W" database is the SB 32 AWE!? Isn't that a tad old? I knew of 2 other sites, but I stood up from behind my box square-eyed and frustrated.

Thanks --Mike

umm, all PCI devices will be identified, not nessesarliy (sp) set up though. as for web sites try http://www.linhardware.org/

for sound cards, try sound blaster live, excellent cards, reasonable price.
