Hi, I just ran Linux for the first time yesterday! And I figured out how to remove a file and shut the system down through the console, but that's all so far. Anyway onto teh real post:

What is there as far as video editing goes for Linux? I want to produce a skate video in the near future, and I don't feel like paying out the *** (upwards of $500) for some Adobe Windows program. What is there available for Linux?

I believe there are some video editing apps available for Linux though I cannot think of any offhand since I've never had the need for them.

Unless other members can offer suggestions, try searching the application database at freshmeat.net for i.e. 'video editing'.

Haven't used it much, just installed it. Seems good for combining video files and some simple effects.

I've never actually used it :^D

but if you're working in [mini]DV this should rock, since you won't have to worry about win32 codecs etc..
