So I've beat Q2 and its no longer challenging.
I've downloaded single player maps and beat them. My connection is so bad I can't play online. ping is in the hundreds. So I've been trying to get some bots to play against but can't seen to fing them in a linux type file. They're all in .exe. Does anyone know where I can find some and how to use them? I've never tried them before. I could take the easy road and do this in windoze but uhhh.. No. Q2 just seems to run better in linux for me.

If these .exe files are just self-extracting Zip archives, you can run unzip on them to decompress them.

unzip /path/to/filename.exe

I don't know if that helps or not, though.

hehe well that is q2 with loads of crates and coneheads :P The slower game physics and delayed weapon switch do provide you with that skill ceiling. Try going to the original quake and install quakeworld and install the frogbots to try your skills against. Use zquake as it has the client and server in one http://zquake.da.ru/
or mqwcl http://www.mqwcl.nu/
for your client and get your frogs here: http://www.parboil.mailru.com/

mkdir in your quake/fbkt

and then add to your commandline -gamedir fbkt -deathmatch 3 -timelimit 10 -map dm4 and you will be on dm4. Once there, bring the console down and type <addbot> and you will face the frogs....good cheer to you, xhrl
