I repartioned my hard drive, so I have windows partition and a linux partition. My question is in Windows if I go run defrag, to defrag my hard drive will it mess up Linux, or anything else, or will it just defrag my Windows??
thanks for any help.

I asked this a while ago, and it works fine. Running scandisk or defrag on your Windows partitions won't mess up anything.

Windows is so stoopid it doesn't even know the other partition is there. Linux, of course can *mount* that vFAT partition. A good little util that lets you look at your linux partition from Windows is explore2fs. Looks just like Explorer, but looks beyond the Win World.
Thanks for your help guys.

i have heard rumours that if you use win2k and do defrag and full scandisk it "cleans" your mbr and possibly your linux partition,
be aware
wouldnt like to find out in error.
