does anyone know of a trouble free ftp site that i can d/l the .iso images of mandrake linux besides the ones posted on the mandrake linux site. i d/l from one of the sites and put em on cds but for some reason it will not run the installation program. im think ing that i just d/led a bad copy. can anyone shed some light into this???

Why download when the cds can be gotten cheaply and you don't have to figure out how to burn images that work?

Are you sure you are using the "image files" from the Mandrake correctly? Depending on your burner software you may need to select "from image file" or such.
Do the MD5 sums match? If not you have a corrupted download.
fancypiper's solution of purchasing a CD version cheaply is what I prefer also.
