System: TX3 M/board & Red Hat 6.2

I bought a new MS PS/2 Wheel mouse.
I had a MS 2 button mouse.
When I installed my new mouse, it detected it fine on startup, and removed my old serial mouse.
When it hit the graphical login page, the whole screen was scrambled. I couldn't see the screen properly.
So I turned off the computer, and put my old mouse back in.
When I started the machine, it did the hardware detection again, and put my old mouse back on the system. When it came to X again, the screen was fine http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/confused.gif

Does anyone know what's wrong?

Thanks.

humm, sounds strange, i would use xf86config or Xconfigurator again and update the mouse mouse entry.

I don't use Linux because I hate Windows (which I do) I use Linux because I like it.

You could boot with your serial mouse, edit /etc/XF86Config and change the pointer section for the PS/2 mouse ie "IMPS/2" and "/dev/psaux". Shutdown the PC, switch to your new PS/2 mouse and then reboot.
