Software Manager in Mandrake 8.0 locking up

I've installed Mandrake 8.0 the 5th. done it the same every time I thought, but now the Software Manager just hangs when I try to run it. Any ideas to get me going in the right direction?

You're sure it crashes? It takes a hell of a long time to do certain operations like update source lists, I didn't think it was working properly the first time I ran it and tried to add a source (and I'm on cable).

If it really is crashing you could always stick with rpm for now, mandrake 8.1 is currently in rc1 (release candidate 1) so it will be released soon.
