First off, is it worth it? Secondly, what's the best way to go about doing it? I see some people are having trouble with it and I don't feel like messing up what I've got now, especially if it's not a big difference.

I have had no problems at all. Just remove your current install of waimea, and install the new one :). I can't be more specific, because i dont know how you installed it in the first place. Duh 10-11-2002, 09:21 PM just cp your waimea ex. file from your bin and the waimea folder from your share directory to somewhere else. Then install new version, and if it goes bad, copy the old stuff back. But i havent had a problem yet. DarkJedi9 10-11-2002, 10:06 PM And neither of you have had probs with Styles or Menus or Actions being compatible or anything like that? Duh 10-11-2002, 10:09 PM Nope. No problems. But i use the action/style i wrote. worked on 3.3, cvs, and 3.4. DarkJedi9 10-12-2002, 03:51 PM Okay, I ran into a slight problem here. When I do ./configure it checks to see if the environment is sane, and then gives an error about something being newer than the distributed files. I know I should have the exact message. :( I noticed during the unzip of the tar.gz file, there were messages about the timestamp being xxxxxx s in the future. The 'x's were numbers, don't remember them exactly. It would seem that this could be part of the problem, but I don't know how I would go about fixing it. DarkJedi9 10-12-2002, 07:30 PM Aha! I got it. I was actually posting here in Windows (boooo) and noticed that my clock said September 22nd (today is October 12th for those who see this at a later date). That would explain why my compiler thought the dates were screwy; they were! Now I'm back in Waimea, using 0.3.4. I like the new language for the action file; Alt_L and Control_L and the like are much easier to understand than ModMask1 and whatnot. I was also very happy that my style and menu files were preserved perfectly. Woot, this was my first real upgrade on Linux and I didn't blow it! :D justlinux.com
