Hi Guys,
I am new user of Linux. I have Installed RH 7.x on my laptop ( sony viao FX370 ). Have dual boot with Xp. Since Sony viao has winmodem, I read it won't work with Linux.

I have 2 options

1. Need to find a driver so that Winmodem works in Linux..???
2. Buy a modem which connects through USB. can be used for both Linux and Windows.

Once I connect My linux to Internet, then I will become a full fledged Linux user. Slowly I can download all necessary software to make my life easy.

Let me go with option # 1 first, and see how it works…( or suggest me a cheap external USB MOdem )

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Try a google search with the terms "linux driver" and your modem model (you didn't say what it is) as there are some winmodem drivers.
