ok. Here is the deal.
I have been happily playing my playstation2 online, and playing Socom, Madden 2k3.
I just got a new game called Twisted Metal Black online.
I can get to the lobby area, but I cannot join games.
On the net I have found people saying that you have to put your box in the DMZ. Ok, I know that on Linksys's that is an option.
To my knowledge doing that on a Linksys, or dlink simply tells the router to not block any ports on that IP address. Is that correct?
I use linux and iptables to do my routing. I allow almost everything inbound and outbound except for mysql, X,. I block those incoming, but everything else I allow. Shouldnt I be good then?
Any help appreciated, I cant even dream of calling Sony and telling them I use linux for my home router, and I ain't gonna buy a linksys, its too nice having it on linux.
