Glibc & java

I recently installed GLIBC 2.2.1 and when i was trying to install the java 1.3 rpm it said i had a failed dependency , that glibc was < 2.1.2. I tried downloading the gzipped version and when i did configure it still said that glibc was too old, did anyone have similar problems?

I'm running IBM JDK 1.3.0 with glib 2.2 and it works fine.

Are you trying to install the JDK, JRE, or something else? Where did you get this RPM?
