I have two servers. One is a backup and another live fileserver using samba. The backup server has two ethernet cards, one for internet and one for LAN. I need to export NFS from the backup so I can dump the archive to the backup server. But the file server will not recognize the exported directory. The two computers ping fine but the exported directory will not be recognized. The backup server LAN card is eth0 s2lrd.test.com and the Internet card is eth1 s2lrd.howland.com. The file server has eth0 s1lrd.howland.com. I've tried to change test.com to howland.com with netconf, when I exit it has a list of actions to perform and I click "do it", but errors occur and when I go back into netconf the domain is still test.com.

Is the domain difference the reason export won't work?

Thanks,

Kevin

I am not a linux network guru (nor am I any kind of network guru), but just this morning I read about problems with 2 identical network cards in one box. Can't find the exact link but this (http://www.google.com/linux?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=two+identical+network+cards&btnG=Google+Search) may help you. At least this will bump your post, if nothing else.
