gnome toolbar not showing open apps

Hi I have lost a feature on my Gnome desktop toolbar. It no longer shows the current open applications. I read a previous post that said to fix this I need to add an applet, this doesn't seem to help, any other suggestions? Its not too much bother to use the [alt]+[tab] to switch applications, but a fix would be good... thanks

Isn't this covered in the GNOME control panel thingy?

I believe that you need to have a program called ' gmc ' running. Try running ' gmc ' from a terminal in gnome.

:D This is now resolved... What I had to do was add an 'tasklist' applet from the utility menu... so credit to that post that I originally read... bonjour :)
