Computer Lockup

The computer I'm using as a server has all of a sudden started to lock up completely on me?? It has been running Red Hat 7.3 for a while and now this has started. I've never had a computer do this consistently (I've always broke them on my own :)). I'm assuming that it's a possible hardware issue and am wondering what options/checks I could go through before starting to replace equipment.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome

I would assume you have reviewed your system logs?

/var/log/messages

/var/log/XFree86.0.log

Anything else in /var/log.

The only thing that out of the ordinary in /var/log/messages was a

"Unable to handle kernel paging request"

I'm researching that now... I'm getting a lot of hits on it but none are saying it's causing the machine to completely lock up.
