I have installed RedHat 7.3 Personal after removing Windows XP (which was an accident), but I want Windows back. What I was planning to do was install XP and then install PartitionMagic to resize the Windows partition to 20GB (half the hard drive). I would leave the rest as unused space. Then I want to reinstall Linux on the unused space.

The problem I've had is that when I get started on the Windows installation, at the page for the Licence Agreement, it says press F8 to accept and Esc to not accept. Obviously I am going to accept , but when I press F8, nothing happens! I've tried twice already and nothing. But when I press Escape, that key works just fine as the computer is turned off and my installation is terminated. Can anyone give me some advice please? Thanks :) !

From what I've read - Win does not like to be loaded after Linux. Since you said you are going to reinstall RH anyway, I'd suggest reformatting your drive (format or fdisk from a boot floppy), install Win XP, then partition, finally re-install RH.

I still have my partition Magic rescue disks. I'll just try to delete the Linux partition (everything) w/ that and hopefully it works. I don't know how to format the hard drive any other way:(

When you install XP it asks you which partition to install to. You can also delete partitions during the install.

Highlight and delete each partition. Then it will ask you if you want to create a partition. You can specify the size of the hew partition to 20mb and install XP there.

This will leave 20 mb of unused space for Linux.
