Alright i have mandrake linux 9.0 installed and since im a no0b im posting here to try and find out why my sound doesn't work, I need to know the sound configure command for mandrake linux 9.0, its not sndconfig already tried that, so just post the command here or what would be even nicer is a list of commands for mandrake linux 9.0 because i haven't found any just for all linux and this version has some dif commands as far as i know, so anything would be helpful. One other question is how to change it so it detects me USB mouse because right now its set at PS/2 mouse port, so it doesn't detect the USB mouse...

Go to Software Manager, and install the sndconfig package. Then you will be able to use the sndconfig command! Otherwise if you dont have the software manager on drake 9.0, I belive you should type 'urpmi sndconfig' (I think, well hey I am a noob too :O))
also may want to try "draksound"

Alright, i tried draksound, urpmi sndconfig, and they didn't work in terminal so, i have no idea, i think 9.0 is different, but i went to system manager (took me a while to find  ) and there were all these choices and i could find out where sndconfig package was, i need more info, any help is appreciated.

Alright, i got sndconfig to work, but it says my sound card is not supported, so i need like instructions on how to install drivers by hand even though its a pain i gotta do it lol the card is Aureal Vortex 1 i believe, tell me if you need more information to help me out thanks in advance
BTY: i am gonna use whatever is here
http://sourceforge.net/projects/aureal/ those drivers, or jsut the ones of the www.vortexofsound.com site, which is the real site, so just instructions for a no0bie is needed now...
