Recreating /boot/message

Hi,
Until yesterday had a nice nifty logo as my back drop for LILO 'prompt'.After some pbm i had to reinstall LILO and after reboot i find that the cool tux logo i had has been replaced by some ugly pattern.everything works fine though.
Is there any way i can create/recreate the file /boot/message?.

You can just edit it like any other file. ;) (make sure you rerun lilo after editing it, tho)

But how do i edit it?.use GIMP?.or is some kind of plugin to gimp required?.
