I just tried installing Debian and when I tried to write LILO to the mbr, it said it couldn't. I had Red Hat 6.1 installed before this, and LILO booted just fine. Should I delete all non-Win32 partitions when doing a reinstall?

I'm pretty sure you don't have to delete your Linux partitions to upgrade or re-install. But the information you provided is rather scarce. If you could go into a little more detail than "it said it couldn't", it would be helpful, and perhaps give us the lilo.conf file you are trying to use.

I deleted all the partitions and that did it. I think I was just using the wrong one to run as boot.
