joe's own editor that is...
I put it on there for the less 'vi' inclined that may be using my box as well. Anyway, I installed but when I try to use by typing 'joe' at the command prompt, i get

'Could not open joerc' or some such nonsense...any ideas?

No, but something certainly went wrong. My box shows this for joerc:
/usr/bin/joe
/usr/bin/rjoe
/usr/lib/joe
/usr/lib/joe/jmacsrc
/usr/lib/joe/joerc
/usr/lib/joe/jpicorc
/usr/lib/joe/jstarrc
/usr/lib/joe/rjoerc

Yes, there's a bunch of them, one for each of joe's personalities. BTW, I use jstar a lot, kinda grew up on WordStar, and it feels comfortable, sometimes, just for fun. Ray

I'm guessing that joerc is the config file for joe, and that it can't find any. How did you install it?

That would be my guess, too. I installed it from the RH RPM's, probably 6.2, which was my latest upgrade. I don't have a problem with shipping the rc files to you, at all. Let me know, we can choose from several methods. Ray
