Since this is the 'How I did it' forum, you should be including the procedures for installing the nvidia drivers and not just stating the fact that you did get them installed. You could always submit the procedures to the LNO admins for consideration as a NHF. Then you would be famous. :) b_usa 10-05-2002, 10:46 PM I can't take credit with a NHF, but I can post the link that I used which initself was sufficient to do the job...:) http://mdkxp.by-a.com/htm/tutorials/nvidiacli.php This one page was all it took for me to have 3D up and runnung. williamwbishop 10-06-2002, 02:24 AM Congrats!! b_usa 10-06-2002, 03:18 AM It certainly is a lot more fun using Linux once you get a slight clue as to what the hell is going on...:) snowdog 10-06-2002, 01:28 PM I did everything that page said to do, and all I got was a black screen. I did a modprobe and got something about driver loaded but with warnings. There was something called tainted modules. I then went and reinstalled Mandrake, then used the tar.gz NVidia drivers (instead of the rpm's like the first time) and got the same errors. I'm using a TNT2 video card on Mandrake 9.0. I installed XFree 4.2.1. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions? gmilby 10-15-2002, 10:43 PM Share your knowledge (some of us aren't so far along!) ;-) justlinux.com
