Belkin NIC Card

HELP! I have been working for 3 days to get Linux RH 8 to recognize by Belkin NIC card and I can't figure it out! How do I get RH 8 to recognize it and from there get the internet set up? The thing that baffles me is that I was running Mandrake 8.2 and had everything configured. Please help!! And yes, I'm a COMPLETE newbie...been with Linux for less than a week!

Do you happen to know what module/driver the Belkin uses?

Does

ifconfig eth0

show eth0 and a ip address and does

lsmod

show the Belkin module as loaded?

If not, try

modprobe <module name>

and if no errors, use whatever networking configuration tools Redhat 8.0 supplies to setup dhcp or static etc.

Ensure PnP OS is disabled in the bios.
