im trying to setup the battery monitoring utility and it doesnt want to see the battery.. i have a HP Pavillion ZE1115 laptop...any ideas as to how i can do this? or any information for anything else i should do since im running it on a laptop?

Anything in the KDE Control Center under Power Control that helps?

Perhaps you can find your laptop listed at www.linux-laptop.net and suggestions on how to setup battery monitoring.

doesn't matter. that laptop uses ACPI.
go to the links for your laptop at http://www.linux-laptop.net (as previously mentioned)

once you get ACPI working you may be able to use a battery monitor. it really depends on whether or not the monitor supports acpi. gkrellm has an acpi plugin which is what is use.
