I'm noticing GLCore attempting to be loaded. I'm pretty sure that commenting that out in your X configuration file by putting a # before the line load GLcore could help. I had to do it.

Your post states that the device is S3 Savage4 rev 3, but XF86Config tries to load the S3Virge driver. Try editing your XF86Config file and change the driver to "savage". I am posting the device section of one of my computers' XF86Config file:
