I know I am a dolt, but how come I cannot get wine to install correctly on rh 8.0? Has anyone gotten it done correctly and working? I even tried codeweavers' version. All help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

As far as I can tell, you're the only one. :p

It may help if you provide a bit more information.

What exactly are the problems/error messages etc.?

I retried everything from scratch and finally figured out what went wrong with some of the stuff. It right now works, except for the fact when it installed it threw in no dlls??? I checked both System and System32, and the only two there are the two I threw in there afterwards? Any ideas are always helpful, would it be wrong of me (meaning will it work) if I had my buddy copy his from his win98 box to an email and send it to me to just copy over?
Thanks,
Paul

could you tell me how to run wine after you installed it. I installed wine in RH8.0. Then I double clicked on /usr/bin/wine to run it. There is nothing happened. So how to run wine?

Did you read the Wine documentation?

I'm quite sure Wine needs to be configured using something like 'wine-config' before you can use it.

Of course www.winehq.com should help.

Searching Google for Linux for i.e. 'Wine tutorial' should find something to help that is easy to follow.

I've never used Wine, so I can't help much.
