I cannot get Mandrake Update to work.
When I start the program it asks if I want to select a mirror to get the updates from. I ask it to update the mirror list and the slidey bar starts and then dissapears, and nothing happens.

What is going on?

I could not choose any as I was not given any to choose from. Thats the problem. I have sine had an answer from MandrakeExpert. Guess What, there is a bug. Apparently it may or may not work with no apparent reason. I have asked if there is going to be a fix for this but I have not had an answer yet.If I get one I will post it here.

I now have an answer from MandrakeExpert and it is as follows:- I have not applied a fix for software
manager and am not sure whether this one
yet. I guess I've got kinda used to using
other methods like kpackage and rpm.

The only way to do the security updates in
kpackage is to cut & paste the address of
the server form software manager in to
kpackage. You define the sources for the
updates in the settings -> location for
uninstalled packages -> location rpm menu.

You can set-up multiple sources for updates.

I cannot give credit to the person who supplied this as it is described as an F.A.Q.
If somebody wants to claim it feel free.
