Ok, I got this tv tuner card and installed it into my box, w/o a hitch, and it's been working fine until the past day or so, when I've started using it more.

I like to hvae the TV on for noise, while i'm tinkering. What I started noticing happening was that occasionally when a menu would pop up over the app (xawtv) everything -- the whole computer even -- would simply stop.

So I tried zapping, and fbtv and they all have done the same thing. I even went into windows and opened the WinTV2k program tha tthey have and the same thing happened.

Is it safe to say that the tv tuner card itself is doing this, or is it misconfigured software somewhere?
Because it's doing the same in both OS's I'm guessing hardware.

I would say you have a hardware problem since it happens both in Windows and Linux.

Yeah. I did some checking on the hauppauge home page and found that my mb may be incompatible but that an updated bios or a firmware patch may help. Haven't done that yet, but I'll look into it.

I did change the slot where the card was in, and disabled the cpu to pci cache writing thing in the bios, but it still locks up (that was on the homepage).

Guess I have some flashing to do. ;)

Thanks though.
