Changing the GUI from the command line

I was in Gnome looking around and found the "desktop switch" app. I saw that you could change to Gnome, KDE and something called TWM. Now when I startx TWM starts. How can I change this back to Gnome or KDE from the command line?

Try taking a look at .xsession of .xinitrc in your home directory.

I think those are the files.....

Please do not crosspost. We can see them all and posting the same question more than once justs makes it more confusing to those that may answer.

Besides it's not really fair to others that just post once.
