I am two seconds away from installing mandrake 9.0.The only thing stopping me(besides never using linux before ) is my printer i do a lot of printing and i need to know if my printer will work.It is a lexmark x73 all in one.Anyone have a clue?Really i want linux and linux alone i would rather remove widows 98 all together and would sooner hack off a limb than switch to xp.Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest you try Mandrake's own Hardware Compatibility List and also www.linuxprinting.org

Response
A further thought; the latest gimp-print also works with X73 so why not
give that a try. You just have to pretend that you are using a lexmark z42
printer and wonders never cease...

i was Very impressed with the intrface at initial install ans Mandrake 9.0 not only found the drivers needed for the lexmark x73 but configured my audigy soundcard and nic card as well as my video all withen the fifteen minute install versus 45 minutes for windows and then loading drivers.Mandrake rocks and i will never go back to windows. Bill Gates can go to he&* in a hand basket!!!
I love this OS!!!
