I Got Mandrake 8 loaded onto Seperate HD but can't get sound going. Tried to find out why? Discovered AC97 drivers for Via VT8233 chipset not in Hardware section of Mandrake Control Centre. If I can get this posted can anyone give me a clue? :confused:

try modprobe via82cxxx_audio

If the module isn't found you need to recompile the kernel with the via audio module. If you compile it builtin the sound will be detected and the driver will be loaded automatically.
