Hello everybody,

i have recently compiled kernel v.2.4.8. My problem is that because of the fact that i use Windows Me as my primary os (yes, i know what you're going to say), i have to boot with a bootdisk. Do you know how can i create it, so that i can load linux with that kernel (the kernel image is say /boot/vmlinuz.default)

Thanks in advance!

P.S I have tried to use 'make bzdisk', but it shows an error about disk space (i think) although it's empty

Doesn't LILO work with WinME?

I don't know if this will work with WindowsME (can you still boot into DOS mode?). Go to www.caldera.com, (http://www.caldera.com,) click on Support/Knowledge Base, and search for "How do I use loadlin to boot OpenLinux? (Ref.#000228-0026)". It describes a procedure for copying your boot image to the Windows partition, then setting up a batch file within Windows, which you can use to boot Linux from DOS mode. Of course, you will have to edit the directions to fit your setup. It has saved my bacon a couple of times when I did something to trash my ability to boot via grub or boot disk.
