While trying to run Arcanum with WINE, my system rebooted, and now 95% of my Windows partition is gone.
The Windows directory is still there, but my Program Files, Games, Misc directories are all gone. My 2gig of NIN rarities, movie archive, samples, everthing... gone... :( (I kept it on the Windows partition as I'm still learning Linux, and I *thought* it would be safe there.)
I got some blank CDs yesterday to back it all up too - now it's too late. Or is it?
Is there anything I can do to recover my data?
I'm running Mandrake8.

Try this program: http://recover.sourceforge.net. I've used it with a small degree of success in the past. However, it is a tedious process, and you may not be able to recover everything. It's got a section recovering files from a non-ext2 partition.

You can also try programs like Norton System Commander (or something along those lines) or better yet, go to www.tucows.com (http://www.tucows.com) and search for 'undelete' in the windows software area. I got 5 results when I searched for that
