I downloaded the Debian distro in ISO format. I used Adaptec's Direct CD to write it to disk on a CD-R, then choose that it should be usable on all computers. What did I do wrong?

You can use Easy CD Creator to write image files including iso's. Should be some option in the menu like "open cd image" or "copy cd image" or something like that. (not sure I use Nero in windows) bdg1983 09-18-2001, 05:33 AM Should be something like 'Create CD from Image' within the toolbar menu. www.linuxiso.org (http://www.linuxiso.org) has some tutors for some of the different cd burning programs. justlinux.com
